Abstract: As technology is growing rapidly, machines are designed to reduce the daily workload of mankind. Keeping track of student's attendance is a challenging task especially for bigger classes using manual paper-based. Facial authentication is increasing more significant with the rapid appearance of image processing technology. Consequently, many studies have explored the integration of identification systems into the procedure of affirming onsite presence. Yet, lesser studies have been on taking university physical attendance to support process efficiency and cost optimisation, leading towards enhanced reputation. To understand the paradigm shift of digitisation, a mixed method of primary data collection using an online survey among academician and students were deployed. The studies analyse various technology-enabling factor while highlighting future direction. Our finding extends new theoretical knowledge and managerial implication to the implementation of image-based attendance.
