Abstract: The objective of present work is to examine the contribution of critical success factors towards the agile manufacturing implementation in the manufacturing industry. The critical success factors of agile manufacturing are extracted from the literature. Fuzzy logic toolbox of MATLAB is used to assess the success of agile manufacturing implementation. The outcomes of fuzzy rule viewer show that information technology (IT), human resources-related issues (HRM), customer-related issues (CR) and leadership support (LS) have arisen as significant factors for agile manufacturing implementation. The novelty of this work lies in the application of fuzzy logic toolbox of MATLAB to assist industry professionals to evaluate the success of agile manufacturing implementation.

Keywords: agile manufacturing; fuzzy inference system; FIS; business performance.
