Abstract: Optimising firm performance has been an important issue in most business organisations in today's uncertain business environment. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to determine the influence of business intelligence (BI) capabilities on BI systems success and to discover if the success of BI systems directly improves firm performance in Asian countries. This SLR was based on the publication standard - Reporting Standards for Systematics Evidence Syntheses (ROSES) incorporating multiple research design methods. Articles were sourced from four major scientific databases namely Scopus, ScienceDirect, Emerald and Taylor & Francis. Only selected articles published from 2016 to 2020 were considered. Selection articles focused on BI/big data analytics capability and BI systems success in selected firms. Using the thematic analysis, this review found four main themes namely, technology capability, organisational culture capability, people capability, and management capability. The four main themes further produced 14 sub-themes.

Keywords: business intelligence success; business intelligence capability; resource-based view; RBV; dynamic capabilities; IS success model.
