Abstract: This case presents the situation that senior managers at Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) face, considering their vision 'to improve the prosperity and productivity of our farmers', the technological innovations they have developed, and the broader market trends. It explores the market for LIC's know-how and its options for commercialising its technological innovations in the agritech sector. It provides a technology-based view on technology commercialisation for an incumbent seeking ways to leverage a long history of R&D investment in the face of rapid technological developments and shifting market demands. Teece's profiting from innovation (PFI) theory underpins the case, and the market for know-how (MfK) framework provides the analytical tool for understanding the situation and the options available to the management team.

Keywords: technological innovation; commercialisation; know-how; profiting from innovation; PFI; agritech; market for know-how; MfK.
