Abstract: This manuscript proposes the use of hybrid renewable energy resources (RES) in microgrid systems, combining Mexican axolotl optimisation (MOA) and wild horse optimiser (WHO). It aims to minimise the annual cost and enhances the efficiency of the system. By then, the proposed model will be implemented in the MATLAB platform. The proposed method yields better outcomes, compared to existing methods like hybrid Harris hawks optimiser arithmetic optimisation algorithm (hHHO-AOA), turbulent flow water-based optimisation (TFWO), and sparrow search algorithm (SSA). The proposed method shows the annual cost, efficiency is 1.42 × 105 $, 98.89%. The proposed method's annual cost is low and the efficiency is high.
