As per the figures of economic report of India in year 2018, contribution of SMEs is of 17% of the gross domestic product (GDP). These figures reveal the poor performance of manufacturing SMEs. The main cause identified for the poor performance of SMEs in India is the higher level of scrap and higher wastage of available resources.
