Abstract: An efficient and competitive supply chain is characterised by the smooth flow of business that generates more sales, reduced costs and improved services or goods. The major objective of the current study was to test the mediating role of supply chain flexibility on the effect of supply chain risk management on business performance. A cross-sectional survey of 240 respondents was randomly selected from the manufacturing sector in Harare, Zimbabwe to participate in the study. The study established that supply chain flexibility partially mediates the effect of supply chain risk management on business performance. The empirical results enlighten managers within the manufacturing sector to enhance supply chain flexibility as it helps to improve the relationship between supply chain risk management and business performance.
