Abstract: Knee problems like knee osteoarthritis/sit-to-stand transition around the globe are increasing due to ageing, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, etc. The prevalence of these problems is also high. Physical therapy, knee braces, and knee supports are preferred nonpharmacological and nonsurgical treatments for these problems. Proper equipment like knee braces, caps, and knee immobilizers help relieve symptoms of various knee problems, but people are still unaware of their effectiveness. Doctors and medical workers should find the best way to educate people regarding these aspects. This systematic review aimed to relate the importance of available methods for relieving pain in sit-to-stand transition with the prevalence of knee problems that cause such pain. At the same time, treatment with knee bracing has shown promising results to some extent, with which more research and innovation can be used to provide better care to patients with any knee problem.

Keywords: knee osteoarthritis; ligament injuries; sit-to-stand transition; knee fracture; patella dislocation; knee braces.
