Abstract: There are many parameters in energy-efficient design in buildings and these parameters have various efficiency ratios. The selection and implementation of the most effective purpose in the short term is an important issue for users and policymakers. This study is aimed to rank the determined energy-efficient building design parameters according to their criterion weights using the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method. Stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) method, which is one of the MCDM weighting methods, was chosen to be applied in the study and expert opinions were used to determine the criterion weights of the parameters as a data source. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the criterion with the highest weight among the energy-efficient building design parameters is building orientation. The optical and thermophysical properties of the building envelope were determined as the second criterion with the highest weight. SWARA, the MCDM method, gives consistent results in the evaluation of criterion weight in the energy field and is a useful method in this field.
