Abstract: Quality revolution started in Japan and spread all over the world. In India, the construction industries have been the front runner in adopting the TQM best practices and reap benefits. The construction era started in 1950 in India and afterward the industrial revolution started and got momentum afterward. With the increase in the population requirement of houses, factories, power plants, fertiliser plants, and refineries, the highway came into existence. The present study explores the TQM implementation in the construction sector and determines the useful criteria for construction excellence. The paper uses regression analysis to identify the association. Several TQM practices were found to positively affect key performance indicators. The outcome can encourage the non-adopters to adopt quality practices to improve competitive advantage. Also, in order to give relevant knowledge to enable successful management of the construction sector, this study examines the TQM and TPM theories. The paper's primary contribution is the creation of a conceptual model that explains the causal link between TQM, TPM activities, and MIP.
