Abstract: To reduce the error rate of fault localisation and improve the accuracy and efficiency of power system grounding fault localisation, a power system grounding fault localisation method based on adaptive filtering is proposed. Analyse the parameter states of direct distribution lines and single phase line grounding to determine the type of grounding fault in the power system. Determine the location of the fault point based on the differences between different line ends in the power system; using adaptive Kalman state to determine the actual location of the fault point. Using the fault points in travelling wave ranging as harmonic components, establish a state space model, and use adaptive filters to achieve transient fault localisation. The test results show that this method can reduce the positioning error of grounding fault points, with an error always below 1.5%, and the required time is shorter, with a maximum time of 0.23 seconds.
