Abstract: The research aims to explore the concept of crisis leadership in the context of the automobile sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on cues from extant literature, this study identified crisis leadership traits and behaviours. The opinion survey method was followed to draw responses from 223 employees of selected automobile manufacturing units in India. To meet the research objectives, the RIDIT technique was applied to prioritise and rank the identified dimensions. The empirical findings provide new insights regarding the crisis leadership domain and also aid effective strategy formulation from the organisational perspective. This study can help to understand the importance of crisis management capabilities to tackle complex and volatile business situations.
