Abstract: The automatic detection of emphatic occlusive [ṭ] in pathological speech (PS) in schoolchildren with cleft lip and palate can provide diagnostic information to clinicians and speech therapists. We propose an automatic classification system for PS by the decision tree method (DT) to use it in rehabilitation in Algerian hospitals. Acoustic analysis was applied in order to extract the relevant acoustic characteristics of this type of PS. The results showed that the DT adapts well to the classification of the PS with a significant rate ratio (%) of the PS, for the case of the long vowels 87% and 85% for short vowels.
