Abstract: An egg classification machine is an important piece of equipment in a laying hen farmer's occupation. The main problem faced by farmers is the classification of eggs before selling them. The egg classification machines on the market are expensive. In this article, the authors implement a load cell for an egg classification machine that is made from a low-cost material. Furthermore, our proposed model eliminates the need to remove the eggs from the rack one at a time. It can measure an egg's weight on a normal rack to classify eggs directly. However, the low-cost load cells cause the ambient temperature to rise and affect their output voltage. The temperature drift problem is solved by software calibration and using a temperature sensor. Before the experiment, the authors analysed voltage values that were not affected by an error of less than 0.2 g. by using standard deviation and histogram.
