Abstract: Due to population growth in Indian cities, rapid urbanisation and economic development alter the physical dimensions of the cities. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 has chosen integral waste management (IWM) as the designated subject to address sanitation workers' lives as one of the key determinants of wellbeing. Arumbavur, a Town Panchayat in Tamil Nadu, is still fighting against IWM's inadequate technological support. Therefore, focus group discussions, individual interviews, and questionnaire surveys were modified to continue on health, safety, and the right to a dignified life in order to identify the gap between sanitation worker and duties. In conclusion, removing injustices and prejudice is essential for ensuring people's health, safety, and ability to live decently. The usage of basic machinery is said to be required for such advancements in sanitation duties, closing the gap between work and worker needs, and ensuring worker safety is the paper's main focus.
