Abstract: This paper presents a modified Jaya algorithm with depth search and perturbation to solve numerical optimisation problems. The new Jaya approach (called MDPJaya) consists of two improved strategies. First, the original search equation is modified by introducing a random solution. Second, a Cauchy perturbation based on the depth search is used to strengthen the global search ability. To validate the optimisation capability of MDPJaya, some famous benchmark optimisation problems are tested. Simulation results show MDPJaya can achieve better solutions than the standard Jaya algorithm.
