Abstract: There are many industries and third parties along with the government policies involved in encouraging mobile phone recycling, however, the rate of recycling is still very low as compared to the use of mobile phones. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyse the reasons, drivers, and barriers when recycling a mobile phone, and from the customer's point of view. A detailed analysis based on primary data collected from the field survey of different user groups in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and the secondary data available in various mobile recycling portals has been carried out. The drivers and barriers in the recycling of mobile phones, the user's attitude, and their behaviour towards the recycling process have been identified. Further, the suggestions have been given to improve the mobile recycling process.
