Abstract: The present paper provides an improved estimation of the population mean of the study variable using known information on two auxiliary variables in the situation of non-response under a simple random sampling scheme. The bias and MSE of the proposed estimator are derived until the approximation of degree one. The optimal values of the scalars of the suggested estimator are obtained by minimising its MSE. The lowest MSE of the proposed estimator is also obtained for these optimal values of the scalars. Additionally, the bias and MSE are compared with a set of competing estimators, both theoretically and empirically. The theoretical efficiency conditions of the suggested estimator are compared to alternative estimators. These efficiency conditions are verified using two data sets from a natural population.
