Abstract: This research presents how the performance evaluation of container cargo ports is conducted in the academic environment. Thus, it is possible to point out flaws in the literature to guide future research. Through the knowledge development process constructivist (ProKnow-C), it was possible to build a bibliographic portfolio (BP) composed of 18 articles. For this BP, a systemic analysis was carried out to show how the performance evaluation is conducted in the articles. The systemic analysis consists of six analysis criteria, also known as lenses. Most articles use generic indicators from the literature; constructivist approaches for decision support are rare, and not fully utilised. The management of literature works can be improved to propose improvement actions prioritised by the degree of contribution to the context that one wishes to evaluate.
