Abstract: Managing culture shock in the post-acquisition period between the companies (buyer and purchased) is a complex challenge for human resource management. Therefore, this case study aims to characterise a Brazilian technology company's human resource management practices to integrate different organisational cultures in the post-acquisition periods. Through semi-structured in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and observation, it was possible to identify the practices and other analyses derived from the object of the proposed study. HR practices focus on the training and development of employees in search of autonomy, good communication before, during and after the acquisition and, finally, greater individual performance and staff retention in technology companies. This paper contributes to the advance of culture shock management theory in post-acquisition, as well as the practice of human resource managers who will have a reference on how to address this problem in times of digital transformation.
