Abstract: Hydrogen energy is a technology that is promising in terms of its potential positive impact on the environment and in meeting the increasing energy demand around the world. In this study, the energy requirement of the moving for a light rail transport system is covered by scenarios using different amounts of hydrogen. The economic burden and environmental impact outputs of different scenarios were found. Then, by looking at these findings, the optimum scenario by Pareto analysis was determined. It was determined that 7% of the hydrogen energy consumed uses 61.82% of the total cost (the maximum cost is 10% hydrogen usage) and, as a result, the hydrogen utilisation rates were considered. It was found that the additional cost will increase by an average of 1.17 thousand TL daily; however, CO2 emissions will reduce by an average of 290.385 kg for the four different load scenarios per day.
