Abstract: The paper presents the results of research on aluminium-based protective coatings applied on creep-resistant parts of carburising furnaces. The coatings were fabricated by pack cementation and by slurry cementation on samples of G-X35NiCrSi 38–18 cast steel. The structural stability of coatings was examined under the simulated operating conditions (900°C, carbon potential of atmosphere – 0.7 + 0.8%) of parts used for charging and charge transport in carburising furnaces. It has been proved that the selected coatings are capable of protecting for 1000 work hours the parts of carburising furnaces from the carburising effect under the conditions of thermal shocks.
