Abstract: A detailed analysis of the organic Rankine cycle is carried out using environmentally friendly working fluids such as butane, isobutane, hexane, etc. in this study. Moreover, its performance is optimised using the non-dominated sorting algorithm-II. The results indicate that evaporator temperature and the condenser temperature have a major influence on the ORC's exergetic performance. ORC has an optimal exergetic efficiency of 60.49%, and 1.6 years payback period with a $7,846 life cycle cost using hexane.
