Abstract: In hybrid AC/DC microgrid, Bidirectional Inter-Allied Converter (BIAC) plays a major role as bridging unit and aids power interchange between AC and DC subgrids. Extension of concept of power sharing to BIAC, a power management strategy is proposed for BIAC community to avoid overstress instead of using single BIAC. In this control strategy, each BIAC is allocated with a well-devised localised distributed fuzzy logic controller (LDFLC) to generate the appropriate power references. Allocation of power interactions among each subgrid depends on rated capacity which indirectly improves reliability and scalability in significant manner. The power management strategy also includes the concept of balanced power sharing, bidirectional power flow, and communication time delay, validates its stability analysis in Matlab/Simulink platform. This paper suggests, a power management controller structure using LDFLC and compares with Proportional Integral based localised distributed controller (PILDC) for improvement of efficiency in the hybrid distributed generation system.
