Abstract: This research aims to identify and analyse the studies that address the relationship between circular economy and green information technology. For that, a systematic literature review was conducted using the Scopus database. First, a network analysis of keywords was carried out. Next, the studies were read and their contributions systematised. The results show that, while the relationship between the themes is recognised, studies relating green information technology and circular economy as the main focus are limited. However, from the analysed studies, it was possible to develop a conceptual framework integrating the circular economy and green information technology. This work brings theoretical contributions by systematising knowledge about an emerging theme and developing a conceptual framework describing the application of circular practices in the management of green information technology. Besides, it is useful for business managers looking for insights concerning the minimisation of environmental impacts generated by information technology.
Keywords: sustainable development; circular economy; green information technology; environmental impact.
