Abstract: Internet of things (IoT) is the catchphrase in the recent years with transdisciplinary research. Medical internet of things (M-IoT) is the novel development in the fields of healthcare and information technology to store and retrieve the medical data that contains the sensitive information of the patients and heterogeneous medical data. To preserve the users' privacy, we propose a secure data transmission mechanism for M-IoT. The proposed approach encompasses three phases such as user authentication, symmetric key generation and disjoints multipath data transmission modules. In the first phase, gateways are validated with the cloud data servers. In the second phase, secret keys are generated for scrambling the message. Finally, the disjoint multipath data transmission divides the encrypted data into fragments and sends to the server. The experimental evaluation proved the efficiency of the proposed protocol in terms of reduced delay and response time at the upload and download of the medical data from the cloud servers.
