Abstract: The environmental concerns arising from carbon dioxide emission created by the transportation sector have been attracting policy measures in every country. This study aims to understand the influence of social, economic, and psychological factors on consumers' adoption of electrical vehicles. The logistic regression model was used to analyse the influence of chosen factors on consumers' adoption of an electric vehicle. The study revealed that factors like age, annual income, attitude, educational qualification, concern towards environment, gender, and the number of vehicles in the family, place of residence, vehicle price have a significant influence on consumers' willingness to adopt electric vehicles, while factors like awareness, opinion of family members, tax incentive and availability of recharge stations did not show any influence. The study is one of its kind in India and extends customers' understanding in adoption of EVs in precise and simple manner.
