Abstract: This paper introduces an innovative algorithm to automate the phases of collecting and analysing the data related to a "Coast-down" type test. It was possible to achieve this goal thanks to a collaboration between the University of Salento and a private company (Nardò Technical Center) specialised in carrying out vehicle tests on a suitable track. The starting point was the data generated by a Coast-down test performed on the track using a sportive car. Two regulations have been followed in executing the test and data processing: the American standard SAE J2263 (2020) and the European standard EN 1151R04 (2020). The goal of this work is to propose an algorithm and a corresponding set of routines with an attractive graphical interface capable of automating the post-processing of the test for both the standards providing speed, a reduced percentage of error (almost entirely neglected using this procedure) and great flexibility capable of covering any variability of the Coast-down test.
