Abstract: This paper discusses state-of-the-art study of the different methods of signal processing. Nowadays emissions are rising in the range of high frequencies due to the rapid development of energy-saving equipment. So much work was under way in various fields to identify these emissions. Fourier transforms, short-time Fourier transforms and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) are some of the methods used for the detection process. Apart from these methods ensemble, empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) becomes a superior approach for precise measurements.

Keywords: ensemble empirical mode decomposition; EEMD; power quality; short time Fourier transform; supra-harmonics.
