Abstract: The paper presents an overview of national legislation related to aircraft noise management and land use planning. A case study of noise zoning project - calculation of noise contours and measurements of aircraft noise - at Zaporizhzhia International Airport is described. Analysis of the noise contours shows that noise contours overlay residential areas, therefore the complex program for land use planning is to be developed with recommendations for noise control measures within noise protection zones. Aircraft noise management and land use planning can be approached as an integrated process which is in case of Ukraine included from the core functioning process of airport operations, defined by the requirements of Ukrainian Aviation Rules AR-381-2019 and Air Code of Ukraine.

Keywords: airport environmental challenges; aircraft noise; noise zoning; land use planning.
