Title: Collaborative logistics: a study on the impacts on fertiliser transportation costs and CO2 emissions

Abstract: The present study aimed to confront the current scenario of collaborative logistics between soy and fertiliser transportation operations in the ports of Santos and Paranaguá, with scenarios characterised by the increased incidence of this practice, thus comparing the economic impacts and CO2 emissions from these operations. The base scenario was defined through the application of a questionnaire to 96 drivers in both ports. Comparing the base scenario with the ideal scenario, in which the entire volume of imported fertiliser would participate in the collaborative logistics, the potential impact regarding transportation costs would be around (BRL) $ 14,696,509.89 at the port of Santos and (BRL) $ 11,806,055.10 in Paranaguá. In the ideal scenario, there was a reduction in CO2 emission in the order of 28.19 kg CO2 per ton transported in the port of Santos, while the reduction obtained in Paranaguá was 14.38 kg CO2 per ton.
