Title: Digital heritage interpretation: a conceptual framework, a CMS engine and a prototype

Abstract: Considering 'digital heritage interpretation' as a process rather than as a tool to present or communicate with end-users, Rahaman (2018) proposed an interpretation framework (PrEDiC), which suggests fifteen considerations to engage end-users in dialogue and interaction and allows them to contribute in the narrative level for better interpretation of a digital heritage site. Crowdsourcing and engaging people for collecting information and heritage data is not new in the GLAM domain. However, developing a prototype that is based on a free and open-source CMS engine and support all the intended 'serious' activities referred by the PrEDiC model, is quite challenging. This paper presents a complete workflow from grounding the conceptual model to operational functions and explains various steps behind the construction of the working prototype. With a few limitations, the user study resonates the success in implication and development of the prototype and provides some suggestions for future development.
