Abstract: This paper explores some fundamental ideas in the management of change programmes and looks at some of the basic problems that many organisations encounter during this process. The paper highlights the importance of involvement by key staff in this process and, in particular, stresses the value of the early stages of analysis and diagnosis. Too many organisations tend to proceed too quickly towards finding |solutions| without a firm understanding of the issues involved. Finally, the paper looks at a specific system that can be used to assist organisations in this process and highlights some of the success stories from companies that have adopted such a system.
