Abstract: The effects of process parameters during the robotic deburring of aluminium alloy 6061 have been investigated in this experimental work. The process parameters such as the deburring tool diameter (8, 12 and 16 mm), speed (1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 rpm) and feed rate (5, 10 and 15 mm/min) were considered in this work. The deburring experiments were conducted using SCORBOT-ER 4u, a vertical articulated robot; based on L27 orthogonal array (OA). Desirability analysis was used to optimise the process parameters to minimise deburring force and surface roughness by considering multi-performance characteristics. The results were analysed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and analysis of means (ANOM). Regression models were developed for the experimental outcomes and it showed excellent conformity between experimental and predicted values of the responses. The percentage improvement in overall desirability is 5.26%.
