Title: Leadership and decision-making style for airline crisis management in emerging markets

Abstract: We are living in a world that is witnessing an increasing number of threats and risks to lives, negatively affecting all aspects of the safe and secure well-being of humans. Those could lead to harsh crisis at any time and this cannot be truer than in the aviation industry; the context of this study. The study will focus on airline crisis (and crisis management) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), also referenced as emerging markets in this study, while focusing on how leaders behave in normal non-crisis versus crisis situations. Behaviour in this study is observed by exploring how leaders make decisions in the aviation sector, at airliner, operating out of the MENA region, and what is required to be an effective crisis leader during crisis situations. The researcher 's purpose is to identify the most effective leadership and decision-making style for airline crisis management in emerging markets.
