Abstract: India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) reveals that the banking industry contributes about 7.7% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in India. It shows that the banking industry is the backbone of the Indian economic development. The study examines the performance of the banking companies based on the financial ratio and ranking them using the TOPSIS method for the period between 2010 to 2015. Entropy method was used to get criteria weight value while TOPSIS method used the entropy weight value to assign a final ranking of the banking firms. The results show the ranking of all banking firms based on relative closeness value under TOPSIS method during the study period. It will be helpful for decision-makers, who want to analyse the performance of banking companies.
