Title: The journey of green finance: a bibliometric review

Abstract: Sustainability is a growing concern in all aspects of human life. The implementation of sustainability is the need of this era that save the world from the calamitous consequences of climate change. One of the options that can help in fulfilling this need, is the green investment options. COP 28 is going to focus on energy transition (i.e., from fossil fuel to renewable energy), reducing emissions by 2030, and adapting the climate finance. Given the actions mentioned above, it is necessary to thoroughly evaluate the research in the green finance field. That will certainly help in assessing the future direction for the same. The data consists of 761 Documents published in 220 peer-reviewed journals and indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). The data collected is from 1997 to 2023. This study is conducted with the biblioshiny, an application of the bibliometric package in R language software. The VOSviewer software is also used to make some graphical analysis. The current study shows a sudden increase in the research related to green finance in the previous five years. The study shows that most of the work related to green finance is done in China, the UK and Japan, where, China is leading with a huge difference. This study supports the role of green finance in making a sustainable and better future. The contributions are multifaceted as they show the relevance of green finance with the help of numerous dimensions.
