Abstract: This study systematically reviews the existing research studies on deterministic scheduling of burn-in ovens (D-SBO). Based on the screening process, 140 studies on D-SBO, published during the years 1992 to May 2024, are identified. Identified studies are grouped by proposing multiple classification schemes w.r.t. various parameters of D-SBO research problem, which provides micro-level details about each study. Further, simple meta-analyses are performed by considering the results of classification schemes and parameters associated with studies on D-SBO. The outcomes of classification schemes explain the scope of research in D-SBO, in terms of unexplored/not-attempted research problem configurations, scheduling objectives, and solution methodologies for D-SBO. Meta-analyses presented in this paper provide useful information to know about evolution and trends in D-SBO research w.r.t. research problem configurations, problem solving approaches, scheduling objectives, maximum problem size consideration, benchmark procedures, data sources, and sources of publishing relevant studies. This study would facilitate further research in D-SBO.
