Abstract: In the present work, alpha emitters measure radionuclides to 226Ra and 238U concentrations for commonly used dishwashing liquid samples collected from the markets of Iraq, using LR-115 Type II. The results show that data of specific activity (in unit Bq/L) of 226Ra and 238U in samples under study varied from 0.588 to 0.064 with an average value of 0.24±0.05 and from 5.79 to 0.63 with an average value of 2.45±0.5, respectively. The results of 238U concentration were from 0.47 ppm to 0.05 ppm with an average value of 0.20±0.04 ppm. Also, it found that the average of 226Ra and 238U Iraqi-origin dishwashing liquid samples of the present study was larger than other samples originating from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Germany. All findings for all samples under investigation were below the world average recommended by UNSCEAR of 30 Bq/kg for 226Ra and 33 Bq/kg for 238U. In conclusion, it can be said that the 226Ra and 238U in the samples under study are safe and not of health hazard concern.
