Abstract: Remote collaboration has become increasingly prevalent in today's digital age, with virtual teams spanning across geographical boundaries. While technological advancements have facilitated seamless communication, the essence of successful collaboration often lies in the emotional dynamics within these teams. This study delves into the heart of remote collaboration, exploring the intricate interplay of emotions in virtual teams. Drawing upon insights from psychology, sociology, and organisational behaviour, we investigate how emotional connections influence team cohesion, trust, and performance in remote settings. Through a mixed-method approach combining surveys and qualitative analysis, we examine the nuanced ways in which emotions shape interpersonal relationships and collaborative outcomes. Our findings shed light on the significance of fostering emotional intelligence and empathy in remote team members to enhance communication, mitigate conflicts, and foster a sense of belonging. Ultimately, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the human element in remote collaboration, offering practical implications for organisations striving to optimise virtual teamwork.
