Abstract: The present study addressed the problem of understanding how organisational virtuousness impacts organisational resilience, specifically through the mediating role of workplace happiness. To explore this relationship, the study also investigated the moderating effect of compassion at work. The research employed quantitative methods, surveying 470 IT and ITeS sector employees using a questionnaire and purposive sampling. A moderated mediation analysis was performed using SmartPLS4 to test the hypotheses and analyse the research framework. The key findings indicated that perceiving an organisation as virtuous positively correlates with increased workplace happiness, which in turn enhances organisational resilience. Interestingly, it was found that compassion at work negatively moderated the relationship between perceived organisational virtuousness and organisational resilience, confirming that when presented excessively, compassion at work can weaken employees and organisations in overcoming challenges. Overall, the findings contributed significantly to organisational policies by suggesting ways to improve organisational effectiveness and performance, ultimately making organisations more resilient in the face of crises.
