Abstract: This study examines the impact that digital transformation in training, development, and performance appraisal has on employee performance in small and medium-sized enterprises in Hanoi, Vietnam. Using a quantitative approach with partial least squares structural equation modelling, the analysis draws on data gathered from 498 employee surveys and interviews. The results revealed a significant positive impact of digital training and development on employee performance, mediated by work motivation and employee satisfaction. This research contributes to the understanding of digital human resource management (HRM) by demonstrating the pivotal role of digital HRM practices in enhancing employee performance in dynamic. The study also supports existing organisational behaviour and leadership theories, by revealing the crucial mediating roles of employee motivation and satisfaction. By underscoring the importance of digital HRM practices, this study contributes both theoretical knowledge and practical insights within the field of digital HRM and its role in achieving sustainable organisational performance.
