Abstract: In the circular economy framework, this study examines technology improvements and their effects on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) (CE). In order to ensure accuracy and reduce uncertainties, the research seeks to map the domain of CE by descriptive analysis, co-citation, and co-word analysis, utilising data exclusively collected from the Scopus database. The study thoroughly compiles charts and tables that explain the meanings behind various bibliographic characteristics. The VOS viewer and RStudio were used to visualise the data. The results emphasise the significance of incorporating technical developments to strengthen environmentally friendly company practices. In the context of technology, the study also offers prospective research directions that are closely tied to CE and sustainability. The findings are highly valuable because they document how best practices for CE implementation in technology are being used by SMEs. This is helpful for researchers, decision makers and practitioners. This study adds to the body of literature by detecting new trends and research gaps among authors, domains, sectors, and nations. It also suggests areas that require further research.
