Abstract: The Kumaraswamy double bounded distribution is a family of continuous probability distributions defined on the interval [0, 1] differing in the values of their two non-negative shape parameters a and b. It is similar to the Beta distribution but much simpler to use especially in simulation studies due to the simple closed form of both its probability density function and cumulative distribution function. Because of its typical mathematical structure, it gives a closed form solution for all reliability measures which are derived and presented in this paper. The nature of the reliability measures is investigated and the analysis is presented. Typically, when the parameter 'a' assumes value less than one the hazard rate behaves as bathtub shaped hazard model using which warranty and maintenance polices can be derived. To this effect, a real-life case study was investigated and presented with proper investigation and analysis.
