Abstract: This bibliometric analysis explores the integration of metaverse technologies in education, highlighting trends, themes, and global collaboration based on 202 documents sourced from the Scopus database. An upward research trajectory since 2015 is observed, with significant contributions from fields such as social sciences, computer science, and engineering. Tools like VOSviewer and R-studio facilitated the analysis. Countries like the USA lead in scholarly output, reflecting global interest in immersive educational technologies. Key themes include virtual reality, e-learning, and sustainable development, emphasising efforts to enhance and modernise learning environments. Bibliographic coupling reveals strong international research networks promoting collaborative knowledge sharing. While the study provides valuable insights, limitations include reliance on a single database and specific analytical tools. Future research should focus on empirical studies and broader data sources. Overall, the findings highlight the transformative potential of metaverse technologies in revolutionising education and stress the need for continued interdisciplinary and international research.
