Abstract: This study investigates the anticancer properties of iron nanoparticles synthesised using Musa Acuminata flower extract. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of bioactive compounds like alkaloids, flavonoids, and glycosides in the extract. Iron nanoparticles were synthesised and characterised using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), confirming successful synthesis and identifying functional groups associated with the bioactive compounds. The cytotoxicity of the nanoparticles was assessed on MCF-7 breast cancer cells using the MTT assay, which revealed a significant reduction in cell viability with an IC50 value of 120.13 μg/ml. The results indicate that the iron nanoparticles synthesised from Musa Acuminata extract have potent anticancer effects, suggesting their potential as a novel, eco-friendly therapeutic agent in cancer treatment. Further studies are needed to explore their in vivo efficacy and mechanisms of action.
