Abstract: In order to overcome the problems of low accuracy of mixed traffic flow state estimation, low success rate of control and high delay in traditional methods, a signal cycle control method for connected vehicles passing through intersections under mixed traffic flow conditions is proposed. Based on the estimation results of mixed traffic flow parameters, the mixed traffic flow state is determined, and a two-layer model for signal cycle control at connected vehicle intersections is constructed. The taboo search algorithm is used to solve the model, and the optimal solution obtained is the best signal cycle control scheme. The experimental results show that the average estimation accuracy of the proposed method is 97.52%, the control success rate varies between 95.2% and 98.1%, and the average delay is 2.44 s. This study is of great significance for improving road traffic efficiency, reducing traffic energy consumption and enhancing the resilience of the transportation system.
