Abstract: With a growing concern for sustainable development, all business organisations have become conscious in placing more emphasis on the integration of human resource management and environmental management, called green human resources management (GHRM). The objective of this study is to assess the GHRM practices of retail stores using multi-grade fuzzy approach and to identify the weaker attributes using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). GHRM assessment model was developed based on two enablers, ten criteria and 49 attributes from an extensive literature review and expert opinion. The assessment revealed that the GHRM index of case retail store accounts to 4.81, which is in between the range of (4-5) indicating 'low focus on GHRM'. The study also provided necessary suggestions for improving the identified weaker attributes. This framework enables the retail store managers to identify their current GHRM practices level periodically and focus on weaker attributes for improving stores' environmental performance.
