Abstract: The present study identifies the key factors that affect the adaptation of e-learning in India. The study focuses on 488 respondents of higher education across the country who are availing online class facilities from different public and private colleges/universities. Exploratory factor analysis was used to identify five factors namely learner's attitude, technical incompatibility, service quality challenges, social challenges and content quality. The study found that the students are satisfied with the e-learning facilities of their colleges/universities but are facing major challenges such as technical, social, and quality-related issues that must be sort-out. The recommendation of the study will help the government as well as the universities to overcome these challenges.
