Abstract: Employee voice is the communication that is constructive and change oriented and which is planned to improve a problematic situation. Drawing on Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, our study investigates the direct influence of workplace ostracism on employee energy. Moreover, this study also examines the mediating impact of energy in between the relationship of ostracism and voice behaviour and the moderating impact of incivility among energy and voice behaviour. Data was collected in three waves covering a 2-month time period at regular intervals of three weeks from employees and their immediate supervisors working in public sector financial institutions. By employing the PROCESS macro developed by Hayes on the actual sample of 300 employees and 19 supervisors from different job functions, strong empirical support has been established for all the direct and indirect hypothesised relationships. Theoretical and practical implications alongside recommendations for further empirical research on voice behaviour have also been suggested.
